Reaching troubled or at-risk youth on a spiritual level is gaining ground as an effective approach in youth care. This wealth of material, from many contributors of different faiths and cultures and gathered in a three-ring binder, was developed for a workshop delivered to dozens of churches and youth ministry programs in recent years.
Topics covered include: behavioral and spiritual profiles of at-risk youth; the roles of suffering, attitude, and behavior in spiritual growth; the stages and style of faith; moral development and conscience formation; methodologies and techniques for promoting spiritual growth. Spirituality is also examined from a multicultural perspective with essays on the Hispanic, Native-, Asian-, and African-American, as well as refugee communities.
