This program teaches and reinforces school and life skills essential for personal growth, values development, as well as academic and career success.
In many situations, cooperation produces more effective results than individual effort. Spotlight on Life Skills focuses on this fact to enable students, teachers, and administrators to work together to make their school a better place to learn.
This program teaches and reinforces school and life skills essential for personal growth, values development, as well as academic and career success. Divided into 41 different topics, including extra lessons for six holidays, the curriculum's 170 daily lessons are presented during homeroom four days a week.
Spotlight on Life Skills is a school-wide program. The homeroom teacher introduces the daily topic and presents the discussion questions. Then, using the public address system, an administrator communicates the summary and each day's behavioral goals to the entire school. Every student hears the same message, discusses the same subject, is given the same task to practice during the school day, and is held accountable for the same behaviors.
Additional uses for this program include classroom guidance lessons, individual counseling sessions, social skills groups, behavior-intervention program curriculum, and resources to address teachers' target needs.
